Tanauan, Leyte -- The local government unit is ready to give a red-carpet reception for the Palarong Pambansa delegations from Regions 10 and 11 who will be billeted in Tanauan, Leyte, Mayor Roque Tiu informed the Philippine Information Agency.
Both delegations will be met by the hosts, the municipal official and the Tanauan DepEd administrators, at Barangay Bislig, the first southern Barangay of Tanauan, Mayor Tiu disclosed. A drum and lyre band will be there to provide funfare.
From there, the visitors will be led to their billeting areas in a convoy led by a PNP patrol car.
Mayor Tiu said that the Region 12 delegation is expected to arrive in Tanauan on April 20 while the Region 10 delegation is expected to arrive on April 21.
At the billeting areas for Region 10, Tanauan I Central School and Tanauan National High School; and for Region 12, Tanauan II Central School and Tanauan School of Craftsmanship and Home Industries, the delegations will be warmly welcomed by the host administrators and teachers.
In all the billeting areas, a tarpaulin with the cell numbers of the Mayor, Vice Mayor, PNP, ambulance and other important numbers, have been installed.
The host teachers will see to it that the delegation marketers are accompanied by a Tanauan teacher so that they will not be short changed, Mayor Tiu said.
Water receptacles have been placed by DepEd in each of the billeting areas, Mayor Tiu said. Water will hopefully not become a problem to the Tanauan guests. Service vehicles, the tourism van of the municipality, will be provided the delegations for short trips within the town, Mayor Tiu added.
The local government and DepEd are also preparing a Welcome Night on April 25 at the oval of the Tanauan National High School for Region 10 and at the Tanauan Gym for Region 12.
Mayor Tiu is providing several lechon, sound system and live band for each of the venues. The guests will also be entertained by the town's pride, the Balinsasayaw Singers.
Governor Carlos Jericho Petilla is expected to attend the Welcome Night in Tanauan, Mayor Tiu added. |
