CITES MOST BUSINESS FRIENDLY
LGUs OF RP |
Tanauan,
Leyte (October 26) -- The Philippine
Chamber of Commerce and Industry awarded the Most
Business Friendly Local Government Units in the
various areas of the Philippines, in an awarding
ceremonies held at the Manila Hotel on October
24, 2007. |
The awards were presented by
Senator Loren Legarda assisted by PCCI President
Samie Lim and PCCI Awards Committee Chairperson
Miguel Varela, in connection with the welcome
dinner for the 33rd Philippine Business Conference.
The Most Business Friendly
Municipality award were given to General Trias,
Cavite for Luzon; the municipality of Tanauan,
in Leyte for Visayas and none for Mindanao. |

For the Most Business Friendly
City, cited were Marikina City for National
Capital Region, Legaspi City for Southern Luzon,
San Fernando City in Pampanga for Central Luzon,
Bacolod City for the Visayas and Surigao City
for Mindanao.
There was no area winner for the provincial
level, Atty. Varela informed, unlike last year
when there were provincial area winners for
all the three major islands in the country.
Among the Awardees, the Municipality of Tanauan
received the award for second consecutive year
as the Most Business Friendly Municipality in
the Visayas Area while the City of Bacolod also
received the Most Business Friendly City in
the Visayas for the 2nd consecutive year.
The Search for the Most Business Friendly Local
Government Units is the project of the Philippine
Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to
honor the Local Government Units which provides
a friendly and efficient business atmosphere
that will encourage businessmen to thrive in
the area.
The award also hopes to serve as an inspiration
to other local government units to provide a
business-friendly atmosphere in their locality.
