Tanauan was recognized as having the most client-friendly municipality because all the offices which are frequented by clients are situated at the Ground Floor. Even the office of the mayor which in most cases is at the upper floor, is at the Ground Floor.
The lobby of the Tanauan Municipal Hall has been made a clients lounge where the people could sit and watch a wide screened television while waiting for their papers to be processed or while waiting for their turn to be served.
During the awards rites, Tanauan together with 40 others among the more than 1,500 municipalities of the country, was also presented a plaque of appreciation for its invaluable support to the Lakbayin ang Magandang Pilipinas television program.
Lakbayin ang Magandang Pilipinas which is aired every Saturday at 8:30 in the morning has recently been awarded the Anak TV seal.
The TV program features municipalities as to their history, culture, festivals, tourism attraction potentials and best local governance practices, in order to educate the people about the beauty of the Philippine countryside and inculcating the value of love of country.The program also features advocacies of the national government particularly on the environment.
The Anak TV Seal is given every year by the Southeast Asian Foundation for Children and Television and is given to kid-friendly TV programs and personalities who are considered to be good influence on children.
Tanauan has been adjudged as the 2008 Most Business Friendly Municipality of the Philippines by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry in October 2008. It won the same award in 2006. (PIA 8) |
